The haters had already determined they would do what ever was necessary to eliminate Him. So, there was urgency in the air for Jesus to help His followers understand His mission and teachings. For close to two years they heard him teach and preach. And yet they still had trouble breaking free from their religious traditions and legalism. They had yet separated themselves from their myopic cultural view of themselves and their mission.
